Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a lovely Easter Break and are well rested and re-charged. I’m sure you ate some delicious chocolate eggs and enjoyed some lovely activities at home over the past two weeks. A neighbour of mine held a concert in his garden the other day and that has definitely been my highlight of the week! All the neighbours stood at the top of their driveways, sang along and danced to the music playing from a speaker. It was good fun.
Some good news. I am now contactable! If you have any queries about school work or anything school related you can e-mail me during school hours on [email protected] and I will get back to you when I can. Please feel free to e-mail me and let me know how you’ve been getting on over the past few weeks if you wish to do so!
Going forward, I am requesting that parents e-mail me each Friday with some samples of work completed by their children that week. This is so I can continue to monitor the children’s progress in some way!
I would like to receive photographs (via e-mail) of two of the following pieces of work on Friday 24th April. The children can send on the work they are most proud of out of the options below. Please remember that it is totally fine if your child doesn’t get through all of the work outlined on the blog. What can be done will be done. What is important is that the children have routine, are engaging with some school work and are keeping healthy and happy.
Work that could be photographed and e-mailed to me on Friday 24th April;
In addition to the work above , please feel free to e-mail photos of anything fun or exciting you’ve been doing at home be it baking, cooking, exercising or playing. I will try to post some of these pictures on the class blog. With child protection guidelines I will not be able to post any pictures of children on their own, only in groups. However, it would be permitted to post a picture of a child with an emoji or colour over their face as a disguise if you are familiar with technology and how to edit photos! I am looking forward to hearing from you all.
Ms McGuinness
PS. I will upload corrections for Table Toppers, Master Your Maths and Starlight on Friday 24th April. Therefore, photos of those books won't need to be sent on via e-mail at any stage.

Easter Message
Hello everyone!
Well done for getting through the past few weeks of lock down! Myself and Danielle are missing the girls so much and hope that everyone is keeping well. I am looking forward to catching up with all the girls when we (fingers crossed) get back to school after the Easter holidays.
Thanks so much for co-operating and completing some schoolwork while at home over the past three weeks. For the next two weeks, as it is the Easter holidays, us teachers are not going to assign any work. Therefore, I hope that you all can make the most of your time at home and enjoy lots of play, exercise, reading, cooking, gardening and art. Whatever tickles your fancy! Take plenty of pictures and after Easter (whether school reopens or not) you will be able to email me should you wish to show me some photographs of what you got up to! The more active and creative the better!
I have been doing plenty of baking and cooking over the past few weeks. I've been trying out many of Donal Skeehan's dinner recipes and baking lots of scones! I have even started doing exercise circuits in my garden! I think it's so important to get some exercise while stuck at home!
Take care of yourselves over the Easter break. Keep up the hand washing, stay home and stay safe! Huge shout out to all the parents who are minding the children, working from home and/or are still at work in the HSE or other essential services sectors! We will get through this eventually and we are all playing our part as best we can!
Kind Regards,
Ms McGuinness

Corrections weeks 16th and 23rd March
Hello all. Please find below the answers to the Table Toppers, Master your Maths and Starlight pages that myself and Ms Smith had asked the girls to complete by today. The girls can correct their own work in red pen and also write today's date on the page along with their initials.
I am sure some of you correct daily and don't need these answers uploaded. I am also aware that some of you may prefer to correct by checking the answers below.
As a result, I am not sure if uploading these corrections are helpful or not so please let me know by responding to the survey!

Survey Results
Thanks to everyone who responded to my survey! I received a total of 42 responses and the results are in!
You will see that the vast majority (88%) of parents/ guardians responded that they were happy with the workload. For those of you who would like more/ less work, please remember that the work we set exists as a guideline. You can follow our programme of work and alter it by doing less or more as you see fit. (However, if you are doing more please do your own additional tasks and not extra pages of the workbooks!)
I am sure you have all heard that the government has pushed back our date of return to school until Monday 20th April. It is disappointing news but reflects the precarious situation we (and the whole world) are currently in.
I wish to remind you all to keep washing your hands and distancing yourselves from others in physical form. This is not an easy time for anyone and I am sure the girls are all missing their friends. Make sure to check in with everyone via Watsapp and other forms of contact. I've even heard of some children playing facetime Hide and Seek! There are plenty of creative ways to keep in contact with each other while staying apart.
Tomorrow I will be setting work for the week starting 30th March.
I hope everyone is keeping well and I continue to wish you all the best!

Hello Everyone
I hope you are all still happy, healthy and washing your hands for 20 seconds! I wish you all a nice St Patrick's weekend at home with your loved ones!
I will be putting up homework for all second class pupils on this blog page for as long as we have to work from home.
Please complete the work at your own pace over the two weeks. Do not do it all at once (GIRLS you know who you are...) and do not leave it all to the last minute (GIRLS you know who you are too)! :P
If you are unable to complete all of the compulsory work due to sickness, please do not worry. However, I do think it is important for us all to keep our minds ticking over and revising topics during what may be a very unusual and stressful time! Please keep an eye on this page for updates and more information.
