After learning about Chinese New Year this week, we made Chinese Lanterns! The girls chose some really nice patterns and oriental creatures to decorate their lanterns.
After looking at waterproof materials and their uses, the girls were challenged with making a waterproof umbrella for a lego person. They used a range of materials to make them, but all had to include a waterproof covering- plastic, clingfilm or tinfoil.
The girls drew and coloured these animals with oil pastels, crayons and markers. Don't they look fantastic!
The girls were tasked with sewing, designing and creating their own puppets! It took lots of patience, time and artistic vision. The girls are all delighted with the results.
Linking with our lesson this week on swallows, the children created these wonderful bird silhouettes. The children used contrasting and complimentary colours to create these wonderful pieces. The children had to practise their drawing and cutting in this lesson also!
Linking with our Autumnal theme, the girls got creative this week and used fallen leaves to create very interesting leaf creatures. We talked about incorporating different colours, shapes and textures into our artistic pieces.
Our online art gallery to display some of the artwork we complete in class.
